Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) is an industrialized construction method in which a building is broken down into standardized modular units-prefabricated in a factory-that are rapidly assembled on-site to form the complete structure. By integrating standardized design, factory production, prefabricated assembly, integrated fit-out, and digital management, this technology significantly shortens construction schedules and reduces construction waste, thereby achieving green and low-carbon construction goals.

MiC technology is applied across sectors such as healthcare, education, and residential housing. Notable examples include the community isolation and treatment facilities at Penny's Bay and Kai Tak in Hong Kong, which delivered 14,000 and 2,700 beds, respectively, in June 2022.
